Why low frequency?
It is generally accepted that low frequency pure sine wave inverters are more dependable than high frequency pure sine wave inverters. Low frequency inverters are designed with a transformer, which greatly reduces the number of components via high frequency inverters. It is much heavy and more expensive, but more stable and better quality! The following advantages associated with low frequency design:
1. Higher peak power capability :The transformer inductance swing will help to start up heavy loads.
2. Greater reliability: Low frequency power products have lower component counts and consequently they are less stressed.
3. Higher efficiency and lower costs: Low frequency inverters and battery chargers have lower EMI, which requires less filtering.
4. Efficient powering of reactive loads: When using low frequency, it is transparent for 50Hz/60Hz reactive currents, which provides a greater capability to power highly reactive loads more efficiently.
