The device can be J or K-type thermocouple input cold junction compensation and amplification, resulting in proportional to the temperature of the internal signal. The device then compares the internal signal with the externally applied setpoint voltage, resulting in a low impedance switch output voltage. Dead zone or switch hysteresis can be programmed using a single external resistor. Alternatively, the CJMCU-597 can be configured to provide a voltage output (10 mV / ° C) directly using a J or K type thermocouple signal. It can also be used as a separate voltage output temperature sensor. The CJMCU-597 can operate from a single supply of +5 V to +30 V or a dual supply with a total range up to 36 V. The CJMCU-597 H package option includes a thermocouple fault alarm that indicates whether the thermocouple lead is disconnected when operating in the temperature proportional measurement mode. The alarm output has a flexible format that can be used to drive relays, LEDs or TTL logic. The device package is available in a reliable, cost-effective 10-pin metal cap, 8-pin, small plastic DIP or SOIC package with an adjustable operating temperature range of + 25 ° C to + 100 ° C. If the acceptance accuracy is slightly lower, it can also be operated over the extended ambient temperature range. The AD596 amplifies the thermocouple signal over the entire recommended temperature range of the J-type thermocouple from -200 ° C to + 760 ° C, while the AD597 can handle a K-type input from -200 ° C to + 1250 ° C. The AD596 / AD597 has a calibration accuracy of ± 4 ° C at 60 ° C ambient temperature and 0.05 ° C / ° C for ambient temperature stability in the range of + 25 ° C to + 100 ° C. AD594 (type J thermocouple) or AD595 (type K thermocouple) may be considered if higher precision is required or used at lower ambient temperatures.
